On the road to India

Starting at Heathrow, or more precisely the Holiday Inn, Slough. Actually it's not as bad as it sounds, provided you stay within the hotel grounds.......
My flight leaves early tomorrow morning so I took the easy option and decided to stay close to the airport tonight. I arrive in Amritsar late Saturday night after an 11 hour f flight via somewhere ending in Stan. I think I'll stay on the plane while they refuel!
I've got two weeks on holiday then a few days on business in Delhi and Mumbai before heading home. The holiday takes in the north India plains and the foothills of the Himalayas. We go to some of the old colonial hill stations, tea plantations and take a ride on one of those toy railways which feature on all the travel documentaries. In the footsteps of Michael Palin!
The top is highly rated and goes off the usual tourist trail, apart from the Taj Mahal which believe it or not will be my third visit!
As ever I'll try to post something whenever I find a WiFi connection; I just don't know how often that might be!
